SOME SCRIPTURES THAT REFUTE THE DUAL HERESIES OF MODALISM (ONENESS) AND ARIANISM (JESUS A CREATED BEING AND LESS THAN GOD)- BY BROTHER MICAH ARMSTRONG
Great post thanks so much Bro Micah!
Here are just a few verses of many that refute both twin heresies of modalism (oneness) and arianism (Jesus was created, less than the Father and not equal to the Father):
Hebrews 1:8- But unto the Son He saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Thy Kingdom.
Here we have God the Father speaking to God the Son and calling Him God.
John 5:23- That all men should honor the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent Him.
Here we have Jesus the Son claiming He should be honored in the same way as the Father is honored.
Phillipians 2:6-8- Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him…

Unfortunately, we see the social media blowing up again over two open air preachers. The root of this dispute stems from a day that Jed and Cindy Smock, and Broie Cope came to preach at Univ of Missouri in Springfield.
Here are the testimonies directly from the horses mouths. First up is Broie who wrote on his FB wall concerning Aaron:
Clarence Bro Cope wrote a new note: My comment on Aaron Brummitt.

My comment on Aaron Brummitt
Now the issue of Aaron Brummitt. Here is my comment:
I want to address this issue with Brummit, a man I called a c*ck-sucker. Here is the background. Jed and I had a permit to speak at that school in Missouri. We had a good sized crowd, and we were preaching about repentance, forsaking all sin, and walking in holiness. We preach that Jesus, the sovereign God, is powerful to destroy the works of the devil. We preach that Jesus has not only destroyed the works of the devil, but He has by one offering perfected all those who are sanctified.
Suddenly this guy Brummitt jumps right up in front me, running back and forth telling the students that I was a liar. He began to tell them that they COULD NOT stop sinning, that they would always be sinning, that it was God’s plan that they would remain in total bondage to sin until they die.
Typical Calvinist claptrap.
I take great exception to this line of preaching because it says that Jesus has not destroyed the works of the devil, and that Satan is still the more powerful of the two in this earth. The one who is the sovereign God of this world will be the one who commands the loyalty of His people.
Brummitt was telling the students that they could not stop sinning. That is tantamount to declaring that Satan is the sovereign one, that Satan is the more powerful, and it is Satan who will be obeyed and God cannot be obeyed.
You can guess my reaction when a preacher of Satan stands up and tries to steal my crowd to convince them that they cannot be free from Satan’s grasp.
His assertion is that God has failed; that Satan has more power to hold us in sin than almighty God has to free us from his grasp. The preaching that Satan has more power to hold us than Jesus has to free us is a declaration that Satan is the sovereign one, that Satan is God.
Now I don’t know about anyone else, but that kind of talk, arguing for the inescapability of sin does not sit well with me. I am offended when someone argues that Jesus has failed to do what He has so clearly said.
So I confronted him.
Here is where it gets interesting. When I looked into his eyes, I saw TWO sets of eyes – his and another set behind his. I have seen that a few times in demon possessed people. Plus I knew that demon. It was a sodomite demon. (Brummitt does have that swishy, metrosexual aura about him. Sets my gay-dar to barking like a submarine klaxon horn).
So I called it out. Do you know what a “tell” is? It is a gambler’s term. It is a minute facial reaction by which one trained in reading them is able to instantly know something about someone. When I named the demon, Brummitt had a strong “Oh Nooo” tell. I know that demon, and that demon knows me.
But Brummitt continued to try to convince the students that they could never be free of Satan. It was then that I said what I did about his future.
He may not be a practicing child molester right now, but that is where he is headed. I prophesied that the day would come when he would be arrested for molesting small boys. I know the demon that I saw.
Oh I am sure Brummitt is fighting to keep that perverted monster in line. But his theology is already one of failure. He already believes he cannot be free of Satan’s control. So it is just a matter of time until that demon wears him down and he takes the same path that Jimmy Swaggart took. He will give in and then give in a little sooner.
When someone is convinced that they cannot overcome sin, guess what?
THEY NEVER WILL.
So in conclusion, I stand by what I said. Maybe not this week, or next, but the time will come that Brummitt will be overcome by the boy molesting demon in him and he will do it.
His theology, that says he can never stop sinning, will guarantee it. He is programmed to failure not to success.

Cindy Lasseter Smock – Bro Cope, I am behind you and have great regard for your character and discernment. Aaron did appear to have a demon…you left out the point that he did not interrupt us briefly and make comments but he paced back and for in front of us yelling like a crazy man for hours…he seemed to be in some kind of trance. In the spiritual sense he is already what you called out and prophesied. He is molesting youth with his teaching that one can be covered by the blood but not cleansed, one can be forgiven but not freed from sin.

Jim Gilles Jesse Morrell,
Is this the same guy who attempted to stop you from preaching at the U of Missouri?
Aaron Brummitt’s testimony is below in regards to the above accusations testimony of Broie Cope who travels with Jed Smock campus preaching.
Wow, they failed to mention how Cindy invited me to tell the audience what the bible says, after I asked a question.
I was actually invited to speak…(they thought i would be unable to answer the question). Then when i began to confront their foolishness and idolatry with scripture…They called the police on me. The police, after discovering I was a student, said carry on.
That infuriated the Smockites even more.
I confronted COPE with scripture that day and he called me a c–ck sucker.
Later in the evening, When students surrounded me with bible questions, he came at me and hit me with his shoulder knocking me nearly to the ground. If it had been video taped he would have gone to jail.
Concerning all the doctrinal lies he posted, he has simply made it all up.
I never told him you cant have victory over sin or any of the other foolishness he mentions.
Next, homosexuality has always been the highest level of filth to me, even when i was lost.
There has never been one minute in my life i have ever been even slightly interested in homo acts.
So his words were lies and he is a dirty liar.
Secondly, he is a devilish punk.
To go around making false prophecies that I will be caught molesting children in a year or year and a half.
Never happened, not happening, and better never happen by the grace of God!
He is one of the most wicked vile men I know.
In closure, the second time I confronted him on campus, after I saw his vile abominations and hellish methods.
I did not get permission from them to speak.
I called him out again in front of the students and preached the gospel.
So he proceeded to call me a d–k wad and c–ck sucker this time.
He is a disgrace to God and if he comes back to msu he will be confronted every time for his false prophecies, physical violence, his filthy mouth, and his reprobate heart.
Other testimonies from open air preachers:
Kellen Moore I personally saw the video where cope is cursing, and filth is coming out if his mouth. Here is the deal, the Bible tells us PLAINLY let NO CORRUPT communication proceed out of your mouth. Jesus said out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. I cannot, in good conscience towards God endorse such wickedness. The Bible is the final authority, God would NEVER tell ANYONE to use such vile language while preaching the gospel or at any time for that matter. Cope needs to repent, plain and simple.
Douglas Vera Berry The part of what was said above that I personally want to point out is Cindy Smock’s endorsement, which is a tactic to deflect. This has been used time and again by those mentioned. These people are constantly spewing this junk in open air, online or in person and then follow with how they are sinlessly perfect. But…… they’re the only ones. Everyone else who is not in their little inner circle is substandard at best and falsely accused of everything under the sun. If you try to correct them, they shun you and as you can see, attack viciously. Why? Because they’re sinlessly perfect and you aren’t. They testify about how nice they are but only to those who don’t correct them. As long as you flatter them to the moon with lots of kudos, they are all peaches and cream. For example, Jesse put out a 4 hour and 30 minute video on Jed and Cindy 😴 and others in the in of ins. This put these people on a pedestal ….. along with Jesse. Anyone who questions and refutes what is said was not included with a video of their ministry. We could care less and would absolutely refuse under these circumstances. The point is that they are self proclaimed sinlessly perfect with Jesse’s endorsement. In this overly lengthy video, there is not one vulgar moment. I mean, it was purposely done without these issues that people are concerned about. On one occasion, I spoke to Cindy about this dirty Kotex prop. This is where they take tampons and Kotex and paint them as though they are used as a symbol of sin. I was aghast when I saw that. It is sickening. I hate that prop. To equate sin to a menstrual period puts a woman to shame and degrades her womanhood for something incredibly personal. I thought I would die when I saw that nauseating thing. I was immediately defriended by Cindy for questioning this. She and this little gang are above correction. They insulate themselves by surrounding themselves with people like Jesse who give them a good appearance with all this exultation and praise. I think that model has historically been proven a failure to lift a person up as the “one.” How can we be aligned with these people who speak such vulgar heinous nonsense to the lost? Because those men in leadership refuse to address these issues, it has escalated to this point. You know who you are. You call yourself a bold man of God who speaks truth. Phooey. You have to judge what is said and refute it if it’s wrong. Vera
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. (1 Corinthians 14:32 KJV)
Mike Bradley Pastor Aaron Brummitt is a man of integrity, preaches the word with boldness and has a heart for souls to be saved. He’s serious about the gospel and has suffered for its cause. Any man who speaks against him, I will oppose.
A “reviler” is someone who uses words to destroy the reputation of another. By claiming that pastor Brummit has a sodomite demon, Cope has to his great shame, effectively reviled pastor Brummit. The Spirit-inspired word has this to say about revilers.
(1Co 5:11) But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a REVILER, or a drunkard, or a swindler–not even to eat with such a one.
(1Co 6:10) nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor REVILERS, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
This should be a cause of concern for ‘bro Cope’. Cope also doesn’t seem to be too concerned with his use of profanity, but the bible says….
(1Pe 1:15) but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;
Ironically, Cope’s own sinful behavior has proven that his version of ‘sinless perfectionism’ is false. The scriptures affirm as much, since Heb 12:1, 2 Cor 7:1 and 1 Cor 1:9 (all texts speaking to believers) clearly show that it is possible for genuine believers to sin. Rather, it’s how we respond to sin that makes the difference, as 1 John teaches. The false convert will claim he has no sin (1 Jn 1;8), while the genuine believer will confess sin (1 Jn 1:9) and repent.
One thing that is for sure, there is no definitive interpretation of 1 Jn 3:8 that defines the ‘works of the devil’ in such a narrow manner as Cope does.
The things Cope has said about Pastor Brummit are false and injurious and creates a stain on the entire street preaching community. Cope should repent, and also apologize publicly to pastor Brummit.
These are dark days, getting darker. It’s time to put away game-playing, egos and the desire for personal followings. Souls are at stake and our time to reach them is fast disappearing.
Brad St Clair I live in the Springfield, Missouri area where I have had a street witnessing ministry for 10 years now. Pastor Aaron Brummitt lives, street preaches, and has a church here. I have known him for several years, and have gone out street preaching on many occasions with him, as well as having attending outreach events with him. My wife, Leann, and I have also visited his church several times. I have heard Aaron preach countless times. He always preaches repentance, trust in Christ, turning away from sin, and living a holy life unto the Lord, etc. I have never heard him say Christians cannot break free from Satan’s power. I know people at the campus where the Smock’s and Cope were when Aaron spoke that they are referring to. After this incident, I called Aaron and had a long conversation about this. What he wrote in his comment above is what he told me that day, shortly after it happened. I believe Aaron’s account of what happened. I have witnessed him in action for several years, first hand. Bro Cope is in the wrong to call him these vulgar names and to say he will be molesting boys in the near future. There are few who match the intensity for Christ in caring for the lost to be saved and living a holy life as I have seen in Pastor Aaron Brummitt.
Dennis Vance I street witness with Pastor Aaron Brummitt on a weekly basis and I can attest that he preaches repentance & faith in our Lord Jesus. Pastor Aaron preaches against sinless perfectionism & that’s what Cope & Smock don’t want to hear. It is a privilege to lift up the name of Jesus with Pastor Aaron. we need more biblical pastors willing to preach in the open-air.
Kevin O. Pulver I blocked “Bro” Cope several years ago, after a facebook exchange about profanity, where he claimed to have pronounced judgment and seen 30 some odd thousand people die under his ministry. (I forget the exact number, but I did the math and it worked out to several a week for several decades I think. And was a veiled death threat for me opposing him.) He was spouting crazy stories about dead flies coming alive when he walked into a room, saying God came to him for counsel, and bizarre things like that. I decided he was nothing more or less than an open-air Kenneth Copeland. He waxed very irrational in defending Cindy Smocks use of the “F” word to some girls at LSU years ago. (I believe it only happened once, but not only did she never repent, but she publicly claimed on a facebook exchange that the Holy Ghost let her to do it!) John Moore recently opposed me bitterly over this incident, and blocked me during an exchange on Mark Herridge Sr. wall. Sadly John is not the only one who defends or ignores this incident concerning Cindy. I have brought it up publicly in generic/hypothetical terms to Ruben and Jesse and others, and they (knowing of the incident) would not publicly condemn it. I say sadly, because I like these guys. I’ve been born again for 29 years, and Jed smock was a major influence on my life as my old pastor used to bring guys like Holy Hubert and Jed in to church and campus. While on a Peruvian mission trip in a bus ride over the Andes Mountains, I’ve shown Johns video production of Jed and defended his doctrine of holiness to sin excusing pastors and professing Christians across America. But I do believe judgment must begin at the house of God. I do believe we must be equal in our judging. We must not redefine sin to give a pass to open air preachers. We must not be pragmatic. Jed comes off nowadays like an open air Howard Stern. And he publicly defends Roman Catholicism, Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, Robert Schuller, and other apostates. And “Bro” Cope’s behavior (not simply alleged, but ADMITTED) does not prove holiness is impossible, it just proves he is not holy!
John McGlone I would recommend a formal debate between Clarence Broie Cope and Aaron Brummitt concerning this controversy the next time Jed Smock and company are in MO. Maybe Aaron can arrange a meeting hall, have it published that there would be many students there. I would travel up there to see and record that for sure. I see that both have blocked me now. Not sure why, they won’t be transparent about these things except they are holding unto relationships or traditions they have created for themselves. This is a formal request to all the open air community for transparency before the Holy God whom we preach!
Manny Y. Villorente When I saw bro Brumitt’s preaching before, I saw that he has integrity and he really loves the Lord and have compassion to the lost souls. You can sense it spiritually and heartfully. I saw some of his audience cried and cheered (looks very convicted by the love and passion). When I first read of Cope’s post above, if you are not bias you can see clearly that there is lies behind it..As per my analysis, I don’t think that any street preacher or who really read Bible will say anything in below because of the many obvious verses in scriptures.
1. Jesus has not destroyed the works of the devil, and that Satan is still the more powerful of the two in this earth.
2. that it was God’s plan that they would remain in total bondage to sin…Me: Wow. God will plan this? Even some people (still have a good conscience) who didn’t read Bible (even Catholic) surely will not say such words, plus the fact that Bro Brumitt preached repentance.
But I believe that those dirty words uttered by cope about Brumitt is from the devil (without a doubt), again, even if I will ask some people (still have a good conscience) who didn’t read Bible, the words he used are surely not of God. And the false prophecy like child #$%#*..lol..
Over a year ago, I began to pray fervently in earnest about two big issues in my life. One was the Holy Spirit’s conviction that I needed to do more to support native missionaries, widows, and orphans overseas where they are in desperate poverty. I had a vision eight years ago that the Lord wanted me to care for widows and orphans but putting them together in a type of symbiotic relationship. We would have Christian widows care for the children. The children would give them beautiful purposes fulfilling God’s will for them. The widows would oversee and teach the children fulfilling their God ordained role as teachers and of being keepers at home. Sadly, the American system of foster care is sorely lacking with many motivated by the greed, instead of being motivated by love for the children. So, I have been constrained in seeing this direction coming to fruition. We considered overseas adoption, but again many times the system is corrupted by greed and is very costly per child. The Lord had put upon my heart to see this vision fulfilled overseas where the children were born and should be raised in their native culture and language. I was raised for about five years in a Christian children’s home in the ’60’s. They taught us God’s Word and raised us in a pretty good environment.
Secondly, I needed employment which would provide provision for my family as our bills have swollen to the point of financially breaking even month to month with our income vs. expenditures, though we live very frugally. Here are some additional parameters which I was bringing before the Lord concerning my job: 1. I prayed the job I would do would have such an abundance that I could give very generously in regards to the first prayer of overseas missions. 2. I was earnestly seeking good work that would not bring a shame upon the Gospel. 3. I would not have to support or work in an ungodly environment. 4. I could even share my faith as the Lord directed. 5. Flexibility of my schedule that I could take a day or two off a week to preach, and if I was desired to preach week long events like Mardi Gras I would be able to do that as well.
As I began to seek the Lord about the first prayer searching the internet I found a great ministry to support native missionaries, widows, and orphans.
I was very encouraged by the site and decided I should email the founder before proceeding with support. When I emailed him I asked are the people involved with their ministry believing or being taught the true Gospel? My poignant question struck a chord in his heart so much that he sought to find out what I meant by my question. He began to check into our ministries and he came under great conviction by the Holy Spirit in watching the doctrinal and open air preaching videos. Praise God, Jimmy humbled himself and began to believe in what God teaches concerning actual holiness, obedience to the Gospel, preaching, etc. Our correspondence and contact over the last year led to a very good online relationship. He was seeking the Lord about open air preaching and was ministering good doctrine online. In November, he asked if I could help a godly family move down to FL to join him in fellowship. The Lord immediately confirmed I should go with my son and help them with the transition down. We had a whirlwind five days together, preaching, praying, praising, seeing a young man named Joshua surrender to Christ, baptism and other great times together. It was during this short visit that I thought to ask Jimmy what he did for a living as I really didn’t know or understand how he provided for himself. I knew that he once had great riches of this world that he almost completely destroyed himself with before he was born again six years ago. Well, he explained that he had run an independent telecom consulting business and at the height of his greatest production he had 28 agents and was making six figures as the owner of that company.
Seems impressive, eh? Except the fact that he was destroying himself blowing $60K worth of cocaine up his nose, alcohol, and other physical and spiritual abuses that he was heaping upon himself. That all came crashing down six years ago when a humble Brazilian Pastor and his wife began to clean his home. He was struck by the peace, satisfaction, and joy they had though they were cleaning his toilets. He had everything this world has to offer in material goods, yet no satisfaction. Finally, he began to seek the Pastor, who ministered the truths of the Bible to him and over the course of time, he surrendered to Jesus. This video is some of his testimony with what the Lord has put upon Jimmy’s heart about his old business being renewed to life for Jesus’ purposes and glory!
Back to his explanation to me of what he was doing for a living before becoming a Christian. He told me that it was a very simple process of having agents that worked for his company go out and get telecom bills from small, medium, or large companies, and then send them to him to be analyzed. Then within three to four days he would send back a proposal, the agent would get the signature from the company for a 10-35% savings on a three year contract. This would lead to a residual income of 8% for the agent for the life of the contract. At first, I didn’t get the whole residual thing. But, in a nutshell it is work done one time which continues to pay benefits. Good examples of this are: an oil rig, writing a book or a song, or a patent on an idea or invention. Wow! I immediately thought this would be an answer for my prayers about the type of work that would meet all the parameters of my year long prayer requests! Hallelujah! Then I thought this would work great for any preacher who can follow the simple processes and begin to access residual income vs. linear income(usual 9-5 job). Then as I explained all this to Jimmy, he realized the importance of bringing his old company back to new life for redeemed purposes! That is where we are now in the process of bringing everything back to life for his old company. However, this time it would not be for destruction of the devil, but for construction for Jesus’ glory and Kingdom to come! I have seen the historical records of the company’s previous years income. He is still reaping residuals that are comfortably providing for himself over six years later, though he really has not worked during that time. Now, he and I want to see this company brought back to life for redeemed purposes. To serve our customers in a godly way, to serve the saints in training them how to earn a positive passive income, and provide greatly for those in desperate need overseas. These are our primary missions at Global Mission Telecom to be a driving resource engine for the pure, perfect, and undefiled religion that James spoke of in his epistle.
How can you help? Please pray for us that we walk all of this out according to God’s will. Help us by donating to Global Mission for Children 100% of all donations go straight to the mission field. All of our staff with Global Mission for Children are volunteers and receive no wages or benefits. As partners in the Global Mission Telecom business, Jimmy and I have committed that 50% of all of our gross profits will go directly to the GMFC ministry. We are asking a third party business accountant to oversee our books. Our records will be transparent that our financial claims will be shown to be trustworthy. Overseas, we are setting a standard for our mission stations to preach and teach all of God’s Word purely to the least of these. We have a vision that as we endeavor to do that, God will use the native missionaries, widows, and orphans to raise up an army. These that are least esteemed will go forth in power of the Holy Spirit to preach and teach the next generation in their country. They will count the cost and go forward into the battle for the souls of their countrymen. Though they have been rejected by the world, they are esteemed of God. Seek the Lord to see if this opportunity might be right for you! We are not asking you to quit your jobs. In fact, we recommend that you do this part time in the beginning. As the residual incomes begin to accumulate and you gain confidence, you will be motivated to make this your full time work. Then as your portfolio builds you will be able to take more time off for preaching and ministering to your family at home. This is not a multilevel marketing or some scheme to make money off of you. We are a registered Limited Liability Corporation LLC in the state of FL, having done business since 1992. Jimmy has decades of experience with this company to train us to overcome any obstacles or fears we may face. Whatever you decide to join us or not, please follow the Lord’s leading. We want God’s authority lifted up in all these matters. Would you please share this article across the social medias? It might just be an answer to prayers for another brother or sister, you never know. We hope this testimony encourages the dear saints of the Lord, to keep praying and seeking to do His will in every area of your life. May the Lord bless you as you seek to glorify His Son Jesus Christ, who is worthy!
It is not often in the work of open air preaching that we see someone respond to the call of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But, when we do it is a glorious thing to behold. This young woman featured in these videos hung around the preaching for two days. She was homeless and drinking. There were many of us that prayed for her that last day. I have thought of her and prayed for her many times since. I was thrilled to hear of the report this year that she pursued the Lord and now He is found in her. Here are some videos of her experience the last being her report from the Superbowl preach 2010 with Ruben Israel. Praise God!
Col 1:19-21 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled
This really blessed my heart. All of heaven rejoices when one sinner repents, Hallelujah. Praise you Jesus, for your glory…Amen.
This blog is to journal our work for the Lord in the mission field, in our Jerusalem, and our home. We recently moved to Kentucky and I found a good fiction novel called, “The Long Road”. This fictional account of life on the frontier of America included accounts from Francis Asbury’s journal. He inspired me by his biblical methods of going into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Matt 16:15 Like John Wesley, Asbury preached in all sorts of places: courthouses, public houses, tobacco houses, fields, public squares, wherever a crowd assembled to hear him. For the remainder of his life he rode an average of 6000 miles each year, preaching virtually every day and conducting meetings and conferences. Under his direction, the church grew from 1,200 to 214,000 members and 700 ordained preachers.
Can you imagine riding that kind of mileage on horseback, through all kinds of difficult weather and terrain to minister to the lost? He would have had to average almost 17 miles per day with only 5 days off per year! Have you ever rode a horse for 17 miles? It is difficult to say the least, but Asbury disciplined himself to the task and the work.
This is my personal journal of what the Lord is doing with our work in His harvest field in order to encourage and exhort the body of Christ to get to the work while there is yet light for the lost to be found. We pray Luke 10:2 for the Lord to raise up a multitude of laborers for His glory and for the sake of sinners to be cleansed by the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.
